YEPI Founder and Executive Director secured 2017 Mandela Washington Fellowship

The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Garb Tech, Amani Katana, has been selected to participate in President Obama’s flagship program, Mandela Washington Fellowship alongside 1000 young African Leaders from 49 Sub-Saharan African Countries.

Amani will arrive in the United State on 16 June 2017 and is expected to spend six weeks taking part in an Academic and Leadership Institute focused on Business and Entrepreneurship at Rutgers University of New Jersey.

By engaging with faculty members, local entrepreneurs, leadership experts and US Leaders in Government and Business, Amani will have the opportunity to build his professional development skills, networks and a variety of possible funding sources.

Upon completion of the fellowship, Amani aspires to return home and empower over 10,000 youth in the next 10 years through YEPI and use his local and international network to establish a YEPI as an organisation that will provide an exchange program and give youth and women the necessary support, training and mentorship to scale up their businesses.

Congratulation and best of luck to Amani as he prepares to fly halfway around the world to Join American Universities for the next six weeks.
